Lagoa has already requalified multi-use facilities in Vales

The investment was around 72 thousand euros

The Vales multipurpose complex, in Lagoa, has already been redeveloped, the City Council announced this Tuesday, September 19th.

The investment was around 72 thousand euros.

«The intervention aimed to replace the existing synthetic grass floor, correct the base to improve rainwater drainage and replace the nylon net. The work had an execution period of 120 days, but it only took 72 days», says the Câmara de Lagoa.

This sports equipment is prepared for the practice of various sports, such as futsal, handball, basketball and tennis.

This is the third requalification of multi-purpose or multi-sport facilities in the municipality of Lagoa, after the Municipality of Lagoa re-qualified the Praia do Carvoeiro Multi-Sport and the Bela Vista Multi-Sport.

These interventions are part of the Municipal Sports Development Strategy, namely in the I strategic axis – “Sports for all”, where the municipality promotes physical exercise, healthy lifestyle habits and combats a sedentary lifestyle in all age groups.

The Vales sports center is now open to the population, ready to be used informally, without the need for prior booking and free of charge.

Furthermore, the municipality is also already preparing the requalification of the Quinta de S. Pedro sports center, in Mexilhoeira da Carregação.

«This is another important intervention to promote healthy lifestyle habits among the population, in a space sought after by many people from Lagos who value informal sports. We will continue to work to create more and better conditions for those who chose Lagoa to live”, said Luís Encarnação, president of the Lagoa Chamber.
