Newspaper A Voz de Loulé celebrates 70th anniversary with book “D'Alma e Coração”

The book can be purchased for 15 euros at the newspaper A Voz de Loulé

The newspaper A Voz de Loulé continues to celebrate its 70th anniversary, this time with the launch of the book “Collection of Popular Poetry and Verses “D'Alma e Coração” Cause it Makes Sense”.

Published by Arandis Editora, this book features the participation of several Algarve poets, mainly from the municipality of Loulé and São Brás de Alportel, who regularly participate in poetry publications in A Voz de Loulé and who selected some of these works for publication in this book.

The collection features the collaboration of Natália Dias Pereira, Laurentino Salgadinho, Eleutéria Pires, Manuel Possolo Viegas, Domitília Gonçalves, Telma Silva, Manuel José Ramos and Josélia Viegas.

For the director of Voz de Loulé, Nathalie Dias, coordinator of this Collection, «it is important to leave something for posterity, in these 70 years of the newspaper, in addition to the archive of more than 2000 editions, there is little we can have on hand and remember collaborators , chroniclers, journalists and many others who passed by. One book is not enough for so much memory».

In his words, «this work thus has a special meaning, as, in a way, it perpetuates work parallel to that of editing and publishing paper newspapers, leaving a small mark on this celebration».

When creating this collection, Nathalie Dias wanted to give the reader the opportunity to get to know these authors a little more and to address issues of today's society, «through a more inspired and emotional vision in a direct and more popular language».

«I also cannot fail to praise the final result and the work done by Arandis Editora, it is always a source of pride to be able to work with fellow Algarvians and show that they are up to the various challenges», he also states.

The cover of this work is a watercolor by the artist Tózé Baião that depicts the Igreja Matriz de São Clemente, in Loulé, from a perspective from Jardim dos Amuados.

Tózé Baião is a self-taught artist born in Beja and resident in the municipality of Loulé for more than two decades.

The book costs 15 euros and can be purchased at the offices of the newspaper A Voz de Loulé, located at Rua 1º de Outubro, nº 26B in Loulé, or sent by post + postage (Portugal €3, EU €6 outside the EU €12) .
