Today there is a night walk in Tôr with the theme “Jurassic Sea”

The meeting point is at the Tôr Football Field, at 21pm

The Municipal Museum of Loulé reissues this Friday, September 29th, at 21 pm, the “Heritage to the Moon” initiative, integrated into the program of European Heritage Days and under the “Jurassic Sea of ​​Tôr”.

In this proposed night walk in Tôr, traces of the tropical sea that covered Europe millions of years ago will be discovered.

This journey, with a route of around 7 km, of medium difficulty, will be accompanied by Hugo Campos and Gonçalo Maurício, who will reveal the phenomena that have shaped the landscapes of Barrocal da Tôr over time.

«Participants will be able to observe the rocks that bear the marks of this ancient sea that existed in Europe in the Jurassic period, around 200 million years ago, when dinosaurs dominated the Earth», says the Câmara de Loulé.

They will also be able to learn about the influence of geology on the lives and culture of the people who inhabit this area.

«A unique opportunity to travel through time and space, this night walk in Tôr provides a deep view of the richness and diversity of the Algarve's natural and cultural heritage», the municipality also highlights.

The meeting point will be at the Tôr Football Field (coordinates – 37.191250, – 8.042621). The expected duration of the activity is 3h30. The minimum age of participants is 14 years old.
