GNR arrests 10 for drug trafficking and seizes 8451 doses of heroin in the Algarve

Ten people were arrested for drug trafficking and 8451 doses of heroin were seized, as part of operations carried out by the GNR between the 18th and 24th of September, in various parts of the Algarve.

The operations “aimed at preventing and combating violent crime, road inspection, among others”.

In terms of arrests, which total 65, in addition to the ten for drug trafficking, those for driving without a license (19) and those for driving under the influence of alcohol (17) stand out.

In all the operations carried out, 8451 doses of heroin, 666 doses of cocaine, 112 doses of hashish, ten cell phones, three knives and a shotgun were seized.

In terms of traffic, of the 655 infractions detected, the Guard highlights 137 for speeding, 37 related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems, 33 for lack of inspection, 24 for improper use of a cell phone while driving, 20 for lack of or incorrect use of the seat belt and/or child restraint system and ten due to lack of insurance.

Last week, 132 accidents were recorded, resulting in three serious injuries and 30 minor injuries.
