Companies from Portugal, Argentina and Chile will participate in another edition of the International Contemporary Circus Festival EmRaizArt, which will take place at Quinta Velho, in Cotifo, in Lagos, in two periods: October 9th to 15th and May 6th to 12th .

This festival intends to be «a farol of reflection on the sustainable development of the territories and the essential bond that the new generations establish with them», while «providing an artistic experience that brings contemporary circus and street arts to the rural environment», according to the organizers of the event.

EmRaizArt «values the Natural Heritage and the autochthonous landscape of the interior of the Algarve» and was designed for the space that will host it, a centenary cork oak forest, «and for the human relationship with the surrounding environment».

«The festival creates new forms of artistic interaction with nature, promoting environmental care and a deep connection with the natural world through the arts», illustrates the organization.

«When preparing the festival, we always try to ensure that the space, within the creation of trails and accessibility conditions, maintains its natural characteristics as much as possible, so that the experience is immersive. It's all very relational: the circus equipment hangs from the trees», highlights Nelda Magalhães, the event's production director.

«Buses for public transport», dry composting toilets and recycling points are other features of this event.
