Farense suffered, but started to win in the League Cup, after beating Tondela 1-0, in a group stage game of this competition, played this Wednesday, September 27th, at the São Luís Stadium, in Faro.

The Algarve team started better and took the lead after just 14 minutes, through Zé Luís, who gave the best result to an assist from Rafael Barbosa.

In the 26th minute, Tondela could have changed the game's history, but Daniel dos Anjos wasted a penalty.

Farense breathed a sigh of relief, but as soon as the second half began, they suffered another setback. In the 47th minute, Vítor Gonçalves was sent off for accumulating yellow cards and left the Algarve team playing with numerical inferiority.

Even playing 10 against 11, Farense held on to 1-0 and is at the top of Group C, with 3 points. Tondela and Sporting, the latter still without a game in the group stage, are both with zero points.

Farense plays the second and final game of this stage of the League Cup on November 2nd, in Alvalade, against Sporting.
