São Brás de Alportel Chamber gave prizes to the best students in the municipality

Students received FNAC checks worth 500 euros

The best final year students from the different education cycles in the municipality of São Brás de Alportel received awards from the City Council, in a ceremony that took place on the 8th of September, in the Salão Nobre of the Paços do Concelho.

Benedita Costa and Constança Carvalho received the award for the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education (6th year) and Gabriel Moreira and Helena Mendonça were the finalists of the 3rd cycle (9th year) awarded. Vasco Fernandes, from Quadro de Valor, and José Bernardo, the best student from Quadro de Excelência, both finalists in Secondary Education, were the other young students awarded.

They were all presented with a diploma and a FNAC check worth 500 euros.

The award ceremony, which was open to the family and friends of the winners, was carried out in collaboration with the José Belchior Viegas School Group, which nominated the awarded students according to their records of excellence and value.

At the session, Vitor Guerreiro, president of the Chamber, left «a message to all students who, even if they did not reach the top places, are committed and have good results and prove the high quality of education in the municipality».

Marlene Guerreiro, vice-president of the municipality, highlighted the role of families, «whose support is fundamental to development», and of all the teaching and non-teaching staff of the group, «who permanently build a stronger school community capable of accompanying the young people and promote a good and happy learning environment».
