Rua do Sol, Rua da Cruz das Mestras and the area surrounding these arteries of the city of Faro continue without water or with limited supply this Saturday morning, due to “problems in the public network”, which have lasted for more than 36 hours and have already affected different areas of the Algarve capital.

In the most recent situation regarding the lack of water, which has motivated a chorus of criticism from the population, the company Fagar reveals that, at the moment, «due to a breakdown in the supply network and the consequent urgent need to repair pipeline, the water supply will be conditioned or suspended” in the aforementioned areas, with “expected restoration at 14 pm”.

It is still not certain that this will happen, taking into account that this Friday The situation was expected to be resolved by 22pm yesterday.

Fagar guarantees that it is “making every effort to ensure that the restoration is carried out as quickly as possible”.

Yesterday afternoon, in statements to TSF, Rogério Bacalhau, president of the Chamber of Faro, explained that the situation was causing a lot of work, because it was not possible to identify the rupture.

«Probably, the water is leaving the pipes and going to something underground, because it doesn't come to the surface and we can't find out where it is», he explained.
