Three Englishmen were helped on the night of Thursday, August 24th, after the pleasure craft they were traveling on suffered a rudder and engine failure six nautical miles south of Albufeira, that is, around 11 kilometres.
The alert was received at 19:13 and the crew of the Quarteira Lifeguard Station immediately went to the spot.
According to the National Maritime Authority (AMN), the crew of the damaged boat were "physically fine", and the vessel was routed, "for safety reasons", to the Vilamoura marina.
The Maritime Police of Faro notified the shipowner of the need for the pleasure craft to undergo an additional survey.
The local command of the Maritime Police of Faro took care of the occurrence.
