Objectives are to bring rugby closer to the population and spread #espiritolobo from north to south of the country

“Our objective is to decentralize rugby and make it known to as many people as possible, through involvement with local communities where rugby is less established, or where the sport does not even exist. We intend to cultivate a fan base of this modality and inspire and unite through rugby, attracting more athletes and greater support for the participation of our teams in international competitions”, says Carlos Amado da Silva, president of FPR.

Those who visit the FPR space will be able to witness that not all balls are round, participating in recreational activities and games, where some passes and basic rugby rules are taught – a unique sport that promotes values such as solidarity, respect or integrity , is very inclusive, where everyone has a place within the field.

With around 50 registered clubs and 7 federated athletes, the Portuguese Rugby Federation is preparing the Wolves' presence at the World Cup in France (from September 8 to October 28), but also the Qualification Tournament for the Olympic Games for part of the Male and Female Sevens Selections.
