Moncarapacho lives the revelry of the Summer Carnival

Entry is free

12 floats, 350 revelers, clowns, entertainers and figures on stilts. The Summer Carnival takes place this Saturday, August 5th, in Moncarapacho.

The parade will pass through Major João Xavier de Castanheda Square (Largo da Junta de Freguesia) and Praça da República (Largo da Igreja Matriz).

«The floats are covered with small paper flowers – a distinctive mark of the Carnival of Moncarapacho – which earned it the nickname “Battle of the Flowers”», says the Union of Parishes of Moncarapacho and Fuseta.

The flowers are designed by the local population, who are also involved in the construction of the cars, giving the event a popular and authentic meaning.

At Praça Major João Xavier de Castanheda (Largo da Junta de Freguesia), the party continues after the parade, with the performance of Miguel Simões, well-known DJ and former announcer of Rádio Comercial and M80.

With free entrance, the organization is from the Union of Parishes of Moncarapacho and Fuzeta and has the support of the Municipality of Olhão and with the collaboration of the local population.
