An 18-year-old girl was helped this afternoon after suffering a voltage drop and fainting on an unsupervised beach with no access by land, next to João de Arens beach, in the municipality of Portimão.
In a statement, the National Maritime Authority says that the alert was received at 15:57 pm, by the crew of a local vessel, reporting that a person was inanimate on the beach.
Members of the Maritime Police traveled to the site using a vessel, members of the “SeaWatch” Project, the coordinator of the lifeguards at the beach supports at Alvor and Praia da Rocha, using a jet ski, the Portimão Volunteer Firefighters and the Portuguese Red Cross.
The young woman was transported by sea to João de Arens beach, where the Portuguese Red Cross ambulance was waiting, which then took her to the hospital.
