Medieval days of Castro Marim ended with «seal of quality»

After, last year, having broken the attendance record, this year's edition was focused on "growth"

A 24th edition of Medieval Days ended this Sunday, August 27th, with a «seal of quality», says the Chamber of Castro Marim.

After, last year, having broken the attendance record, this year's edition was focused on the «growth» of the event.

«Accessibility was one of the most invested factors, with the introduction of new digital ticket booths and the enlargement and reorganization of the car parks, a substantial improvement noted by all who visited us. The growth of the medieval market to new areas of the village and the creation of new stages, where the approximately 30 hired animation groups circulated, also created greater fluidity and offered more quality in the experience offered to the visitor», says the municipality.

Safety and assistance were also concerns of the organization, «which ensured the reinforcement of police security, as well as a nursing station and a medical station and teams with defibrillators circulating throughout the event».

On the other hand, there was reduction and separation of waste.

«The exclusivity of some of the 30 animation groups, national and international, and more than 100 daily exhibitions throughout the event venue, the recreation of more than 45 arts and crafts, the experience of banquets, great shows, such as tournaments , in a closed and restricted space, the different spaces intended for children's entertainment, the involvement of dozens of establishments and associations and hundreds of extras, all these factors enrich and distinguish this event, making it a unique and unforgettable experience and a true comeback to the most intriguing and mysterious time in our history», says the municipality.

The XXIV edition of the Medieval Days of Castro Marim was organized by the Municipality of Castro Marim, in partnership with local associations and parish councils, and with the institutional support of the Algarve Tourism Board

«It is an organization supported by many efforts, from employees, leaders, associations, companies, castromarinenses and visitors, for which we reiterate our thanks to all those who are involved year after year», concludes Filomena Sintra, vice-president of the Chamber.
