From Festa das Comunidades to Ameixial Summer Fest: Summer in Loulé is full of events

Events throughout the month

Community Summer Fest, in Almancil, Ameixial Summer Fest or Manjares Serranos, in the village of Cortelha, are some of the events that, in the coming weeks, will enliven the summer in Loulé. 

At the start of August, from the 3rd to the 6th, the Jardim das Comunidades, in Almancil, hosts the Communities Summer Festival. The different cultures that reside in the parish, such as Cape Verdean, Venezuelan, Romanian, Ukrainian or Argentine, will be represented here through music, folklore, but above all gastronomy.

In terms of musical shows, the poster features Remember Me (August 4th), Íris (August 5th) or Matias Damásio (August 6th).

Back inland, on the 5th of August, gastronomy will be highlighted in another edition of Manjares Serranos, in the village of Cortelha. At this event, all visitors can taste traditional dishes typical of Serra do Caldeirão, such as Jantarinho de Grao, Rooster Stew with Potatoes or the famous Maize Porridge, among other delicacies.

There will also be a lot of local handicrafts and animation with the Folklore Festival of the Ethnographic Group of Serra do Caldeirão, music and dancing.

On the 12th, 13th and 14th of August, the parish of São Sebastião celebrates its 133rd anniversary. One of the main moments will be the performance, in Largo de S. Francisco, by the singer Nuno Guerreiro, accompanied by the Banda Filarmónica Artistas de Minerva, on the 13th, at 21. Admission is free.

 

The Ameixial Summer Fest, on the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th of August, will have concerts with sunset, live music, a “pool party” in the Espelho de Água da Seiceira with DJs, light shows, gastronomy, handicrafts and regional products, inflatables for children, dances, traditional games, comedy, hiking and night mountain biking are the proposed programs for these four days of festivities where all roads lead to Ameixial. In addition, highlight for the headliners, UHF, who take the stage on the 12th.

On the 15th of August, there are also festivals in honor of Our Lady of the Assumption, in Querença. In addition to the religious component, with the Eucharist and the procession with the image of Our Lady through the streets of the village, accompanied by the Philharmonic Band “Artistas de Minerva”, there will also be an auction of offers, a space with small taverns with traditional snacks and a dance with Mário Snows.

During the event, there will be interaction with the public by two figures from the Algarve mountains: Ti Gregoire and Ti Marquinhas.

In September, on the 2nd and 3rd, in the heart of the Barrocal, the Tôr Fair takes place, with initiatives for children, sports,
handicrafts, gastronomy and, above all, a lot of music bring animation to the venue, from 17 pm onwards. Quinta do Bill (on the 00nd, 2 pm) will be one of the protagonists of an event that has free admission.
