César Martingil in 4th was the best “algarvian” in the prologue of the Tour of Portugal

Among the “algarvians”, the second best was Carlos Salgueiro, from Tavira

The Portuguese César Martingil, from the Aviludo/Louletano/Loulé Concelho team, in 4th place, was the best classified cyclist from an Algarve team in the prologue of the Tour of Portugal, which took place today on the 3,6 kilometer route Viseu/Viseu.

The cyclist from the Loulé team ended this first run 4 tenths behind the winner, who was also Portuguese Rafael Reis (Glassdrive-Q8-Anicolor), who wore the first yellow jersey of this Tour in Viseu.

From the AP Hotels & Resorts/ Tavira / SC Farense team, the best placed cyclist in this prologue was Carlos Salgueiro, who finished in 12th place.

On Thursday, the first stage in line of the 84th edition connects Anadia to Ourém in 188,5 kilometers, with three categorized mountain counts, in Buçaco (third category), Alburitel (fourth) and Fátima (fourth).

In the year that Louletano celebrates its centenary, Volta returns to the Algarve, after several years of absence. On Saturday, the 12th, the 3rd stage will take place, which will connect Sines to Loulé, in an arrival that is likely to be emotional.
