The blue flag was also raised again, and the notices placed yesterday at the entrance to the beach were also removed.
Yesterday, Tuesday, after receiving information from the Portuguese Environment Agency advising against going to the baths on Carvoeiro beach, due to «microbiological values above the reference parameters» in the bathing water, the Captaincy gave instructions so that the red flag was hoisted, prohibiting going to baths.
The origin of the contamination of the waters is not known, but everything indicates that it was discharged from a vessel.
