“Aguarte – Become Water” returns for the second edition

The project intends to unite all age groups around the same theme.

Águas do Algarve renews the protocol established with the Red Cross – Delegation of Faro / Loulé for a new edition of the Art Education Project “Aguarte – Become Water”, which last year brought together more than 700 people.

With this project, Águas do Algarve intends to «continue this work developed for the social awareness of water in personal, human and community development».

«Water appears in Aguarte as an archetype linked to emotions, connected to everything that makes us human: sensations, emotions and their artistic expression» was the focus in the development of the works of the 1st edition.

In this second edition of the project, there is a perspective of respect for Water and the dissemination of this knowledge rooted in the instinctive Portuguese culture of care for the liquid of life.

This 2nd edition of Aguarte will preserve the senior theater group, which now has 15 Senior Academy members instead of the 11 elements of the initial group.

One of the objectives of this protocol relates, according to Águas do Algarve, to the need to promote environmental awareness in all social strata of the population, especially those with the most difficult access.

With dates scheduled for the 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd of September at Teatro Lethes, in Faro, Aguarte will bring the voice of the elderly to around 600 young people from the 3rd cycle and secondary education.

Aguarte has the collaboration of director and producer Pedro Monteiro.

In addition to young people, it is also intended to take the Aguarte project to 4 more shows aimed at the general population of 4 Algarve municipalities on dates and locations that will be announced shortly.

Accompanying the theatrical exhibitions will be the exhibition “Lixarte – Transforming garbage into art”, whose objective is to sensitize the population to the
pollution of waters and oceans origin of life on Earth.
