Occupancy rate for June in the Algarve registers an increase of 3,2 points

Compared to June 2019, it was 1,0 percentage points lower

In June, accommodation units in the Algarve registered an increase of 3,2 percentage points in the occupancy rate per room compared to the same month of the previous year.

The data was advanced by the Association of Hotels and Tourist Enterprises of the Algarve (AHETA) based on the activity of its members.

According to AHETA, the occupancy rate per room last month was 77,8%, 3,2 percentage points (pp) higher than that seen in 2022 and 1,0 percentage points lower than that seen in June 2019.

The markets that most contributed to the year-on-year rise were the British, with +2,0pp, the Germans, with +1,0pp, and the Irish, with +0,8pp.

By geographical area, the biggest increases compared to the previous year occurred in the areas of Carvoeiro / Armação de Pêra (+4,6pp), Albufeira (+4,4pp), and Portimão / Praia da Rocha (+3,9pp).

The average stay was 4,6 nights, an increase of 6% compared to 2022. The longest average stays were in the German market, with 6,6 nights, and in the Irish market, with 6,4 nights.
