First FlixBus night line now connects Algarve to Coimbra, Porto and Braga

The German express passenger transport company FlixBus has just launched its first night line in Portugal, which now connects the south to the north of the country, with the first trip scheduled for tomorrow, the 13th of July.

It will be a 10-hour trip and around 750 kilometers traveled, always with two drivers. The first FlixBus night line passes through Lagos, Portimão, Albufeira and Faro, and will ensure the connection to the cities of Lisbon, Coimbra, Porto and Braga.

Like all FlixBus night lines in Europe, and for reasons related to travel and passenger safety, this new line will operate with two drivers simultaneously, and will have a daily frequency.

Departure from Braga is at 22:05 pm, arriving in Lagos, the last stop, at 8:05 am the following day.

In the opposite direction, departure from Lagos is at 21:30, arriving in Braga at 7:30 in the morning.

The price of tickets for the Braga-Lagos connection starts at 9,99 euros.

“This night line is specially designed for those who don't want to waste a day traveling to and from the Algarve” says Pablo Pastega, general manager of FlixBus for Portugal and Spain.

“And as with all FlixBus night lines in Europe, this one will also have two drivers simultaneously ensuring the trip, in order to guarantee an even safer trip”, defends this person in charge.

“The second driver is not at rest, but in a state of readiness and alertness. He pays attention to driving, in order to identify any signs of driver fatigue and to take action, if necessary”.

The two drivers are mandatory on any FlixBus night route in Europe, and complement other safety systems, such as the fatigue detector or the adaptive cruise control, Among others.

The launch of this new line forms part of “the development and growth strategy of the FlixBus operation to and from the Algarve region, which aims to respond to the increased demand at this time of year, which is a holiday period for many Portuguese”, he stresses. the company.

As of this date, FlixBus trips will also be available in the Algarve region, namely connections between Faro <> lakes and Faro <> Portimao.
