Orquestra do Algarve, conducted by maestro Martim Sousa Tavares, returns to Lagos, to present two open-air concerts in the former Preparatory Cycle (in front of the 14st Century Town Hall building), on the 15th and 21th of July, at 30:XNUMX pm.

On the first night, scenes from Mozart's work “The Wedding of Figaro” will be presented, with some of the most promising voices refined within the scope of the first Artistic Laboratory of Orquestra do Algarve, among them Carina Ferreira (soprano), Ema Sá (soprano) and Patrícia Silveira (mezzo-soprano).

Mozart's opera tells the story of Figaro's loves and heartbreaks, interpreted by guest baritone André Henriques.

«The night promises a rich and fun concert, where the theatrical, dramatic and comic potential inserted in this operatic work will be highlighted», emphasizes the Câmara de Lagos.

On the following day, July 15th, there will be the opportunity to enjoy Música em Forma de Sorriso, a concert with a tone of good mood that will begin with the premiere in Portugal of the Overture of “Les Deux Jaloux”, by Sophie Gail, followed by “ Humoreske” by Humperdinck, composed by the author of the reference children’s opera – Hänsel und Gretel.

The concert continues with the captivating and smiling music of Debussy, in the company of his remarkable “Arabesques”, and the symphony of Haydn, in which the well-marked sense of humor in the work known as “The Clock” stands out.

Both concerts will be conducted by the baton of maestro Martim Sousa Tavares, whose visit also accompanied the change (or return) of the entity's name to Orquestra do Algarve in April this year.

Tickets cost 5 euros per show or a special price of 8 euros for a two-day package, available through Bol or at the FNAC and Worten counters.
