29-year-old man remanded after being arrested for domestic violence

Domestic violence is a public crime and reporting it is a collective responsibility.

A 29-year-old man who was detained by the GNR on Sunday, the 23rd, for domestic violence in Quarteira, was remanded in custody.

The GNR says, in a statement, that, after "an alert reporting a situation of domestic violence, the Guard military quickly moved to the place where they witnessed the aggressor insulting and threatening the victim", his 32-year-old partner, which led to his "detention in the act".

The detainee was made a defendant and present yesterday, July 24, at the Judicial Court of Loulé, where the coercive measure of preventive detention was applied to him.

The GNR adds that «domestic violence is a public crime and reporting it is a collective responsibility».
