Members of “SeaWatch” rescue sixty-year-old man who suffered a fall on Praia da Luz

Man was transported to hospital

Operators of the “SeaWatch” Project rescued a 62-year-old man who had fallen and injured his legs, today, July 28, at Praia da Luz, in the municipality of Lagos.

Following the alert received at 15 pm, members of the “SeaWatch” Project, from the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Lagos and the Volunteer Firefighters of Lagos, were sent to the site.

When they arrived at the beach, the operators verified that the victim, «was conscious, with difficulties in moving» and with suspected fracture of the legs, «having been promptly stabilized by the elements of the “SeaWatch” Project, in collaboration with the Firefighters Volunteers from Lagos and lifeguards on duty on the beach», according to the National Maritime Authority.

The man was extracted from the beach by the elements of the “SeaWatch” Project, using the Amarok vehicle, to the Lagos Volunteer Fire Brigade ambulance, which transported him to the hospital.

The local command of the Maritime Police of Lagos took care of the incident.
