The issue consists of two stamps – illustrating arjamolho and a sweet from the Algarve -, with face values of €0,80 and €1,15, with a print run of 75 copies each.
First-day cancellations can be made at the Restauradores CTT Stores, in Lisbon, Palácio dos Correios, in Porto, Zarco, in Funchal, Antero de Quental, in Ponta Delgada, and at the Tavira Store.
The Mediterranean Diet Fair has the institutional support of UNESCO and is part of the strategy to safeguard the principles of the Mediterranean Diet.
In December 2023, 10 years will be celebrated since the United Nations Committee included the Tavira area, in Portugal, along with other locations in countries such as Cyprus, Croatia, Spain, Greece, Italy and Morocco, as one of the regions emblematic of the Mediterranean Diet, according to UNESCO.
These are territories where food, daily living, the relationship with nature and the sense of sharing are symbolic of a Mediterranean lifestyle, and therefore an «Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity» to be preserved.
