Algarve 2030 supports the University of Algarve in the new offers of Higher Professional Technical Courses

UAlg's training offer foresees 13 CTeSP

The Algarve 2030 Regional Program supports the University of the Algarve and its new offers of Higher Professional Technical Courses, announced the Commission for Coordination and Regional Development of the Algarve, which manages European funds in the region.

The University of Algarve (UAlg) promotes tomorrow, July 27th, a webinar on “Access to Higher Professional Technical Courses (CTeSP)”, through the zoom platform, with the aim of disseminating the training offer in this field in the 2023/2024 school year.

UAlg's training offer foresees 13 CTeSP and enrollment in the webinar is mandatory and can be done here.

The first phase of candidacy for the CTeSP is done online, is ongoing and ends on the 11th of August. The 2nd phase of applications runs from the 20th to the 24th of September. More information and online applications here.

The CTeSP are Higher Education courses of shorter duration than the degree, with a general, technical and scientific training component that allows capitalizing on higher-level courses, and that offer practical experience, which extends to the job market, through a professional internship.

The CCDR note stresses that, «aware that this training offer will make it possible to expand the demand for higher education through the diversification and specialization of the training offer, and to improve the response to the needs of the labor market, namely in areas of specialization that respond to needs of the priority sectors identified within the scope of the Regional Strategy», the Algarve 2030 program decided to support UAlg, «not only by financing the operation of this offer, but also by supporting the reinforcement and modernization of the technological equipment necessary for its operation».

For the Algarve 2030 Regional Programme, the focus on higher-level qualifications is «the best guarantee of convergence of the region with the effort that the country has been making, and a necessary condition for the diversification of the regional economic base and for the improvement of the competitiveness of our business fabric».

To ensure greater predictability in accessing European funds, the annual notice plan will be published by the end of the year, which will allow potential beneficiaries to find out about the tenders that will be available in 2024.

The Algarve 2030 is structured around five strategic objectives (OP): for an Algarve that is smarter, greener, more connected, more social and closer to citizens, for the application, between 2021 and 2027, of a global amount of 780 millions of euros.
