Albufeira warns of the danger of the cliffs on the county's beaches

Albufeira Municipal Civil Protection Service will alert bathers until September 7

The Municipal Civil Protection Service of Albufeira will, during the summer months, until September 7, travel the county's beaches raising awareness of the self-protection measures on the beaches, in order to prevent risky behavior and possible accidents.

The awareness action “Arribas! Protect yourself and others – avoid the accident” intends, according to the municipality, “to create mechanisms that allow vacationers to adopt protective measures, respect for the signage in the place and avoid staying in dangerous areas”.

«Aware of the risks present in the municipality of Albufeira and the importance of raising awareness among the population, we invested
in these actions in order to guarantee the protection and safety of all who live here and those who choose this
time of year to visit us, promoting and looking for a summer without incidents or constraints», highlights
Cláudia Guedelha, councilwoman responsible for Civil Protection.

In addition to Manuel Lourenço and Coelha beaches, during the month of July, the project passes through the beaches of Rocha Baixinha Nascente and Rocha Baixinha (July 18th), Rocha Baixinha West (July 20th), Maria Luísa (July 25th) and Santa Eulalia (July 27th).

Next month, the selected beaches are Inatel (August 1st), Alemães (August 3rd), Salgados (August 8th), Oura (August 10th), Arrifes and São Rafael (August 14th), Pescadores and Peneco ( August 16th), Olhos de Água (August 17th), Barranco das Belharucas (August 22nd), Alfamar Cliff (August 24th), Açoteias Cliff (August 29th) and Aveiros and Oura Leste (August 31st).

In September, the campaign covers the beaches of Galé Leste (Pedra Amarelas) and Galé Oeste (September 5) and
Castelo and Evaristo (September 7th).

This action has the collaboration of the Maritime Authority, Maritime Police and Lifeguard Association of Albufeira (ANSA).

For the mayor, «people choose Albufeira to rest and enjoy their free time,
so they don't always notice alerts and warnings. This personal and friendly contact translates our way of being in the
Tourism and has given good results. An excellent holiday, in safety, is what we want», assures José
Carlos Rolo.
