4,2 kilos of cocaine seized and passenger detained at Faro

A 65-year-old man was arrested yesterday and 4,2 kilos of cocaine were seized, following an inspection by customs services at the airport of Faro, on a flight from Brazil.

The passenger was detained by the Judiciary Police's Southern Directorate, since he was "strongly suspected of committing the crime of illicit drug trafficking".

In addition to the cocaine, “objects related to the crime” were also seized.

Subject to the first judicial interrogation of the detained defendant, the man ended up being held in custody.

The investigation is now under the responsibility of the Judiciary Police.
