14 people, between 21 and 58 years old, were arrested from 7 to 9 July, in the municipality of Albufeira, by the Territorial Sub-detachment of the GNR.
Actions to combat crime were «specially focused on the main nightlife venues and summer events in Albufeira», explains the Territorial Command of Faro of the GNR.
Thus, ten people were arrested for drug trafficking, two for injuries, one for offenses to physical integrity and another for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The action also aimed at preventing the consumption of narcotics, which resulted in the identification of two people and the seizure of the respective product.
Various material was also seized, namely 231 doses of hashish, 184 doses of MDMA, 75 doses of cocaine, six doses of marijuana, 1 euros, 971 dollars and 44 pounds sterling, all in cash, as well as a vehicle, a precision and a knife.
The facts were referred to the Judicial Court of Albufeira.
By carrying out these actions, the National Republican Guard claims to intend to "fight crime and strengthen the population's sense of security".
