Vicentina promotes 1st DLBC Rural Workshop in the Municipality of Silves

Community Based Local Development (CLLD) is a form of integrated approach to territorial development

The 1st Community Based Local Development Workshop (DLBC) took place on the 14th of June, in the auditorium of the Municipality of Silves. The working morning, organized by the Vicentina Association, ran from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

The Workshop began with the intervention of councilor Luísa Conduto Luís, who greeted Vicentina members, partners and associates, wishing, on behalf of the Municipality, a productive morning of work.

Márcio Viegas, president of Vicentina, thanked the partners for their presence, noting that the most important issues to be addressed at the meeting would be about the territory of GAL ADERE 2030, namely about the rural and urban parishes to be included in the Local Action Group.

Executive coordinator of Aliados Consulting, Nuno Prata presented the DLBC Notice – Recognition of Local Action Groups and selection of Local Development Strategies (2023-2027), introducing the discussion on the partnership's work plan for the construction and presentation of the candidacy.

During his intervention, the main and secondary needs within the scope of the notice were identified, as well as the involvement in the partnership for the period 2023-2027.

Aura Fraga, Vicentina's secretary, addressed the planning of work for the next two months, referring to Vicentina's proposals for new partners, to be included in the next programming period.

During his intervention, the schedule of weekly meetings related to CLLD was organized, having been defined that the next Workshop, with the theme of discussion “Territory and Partnership”, will take place on the 22nd of June, at 15:00, in the Municipality of Aljezur.

Paulo Oliveira, head of the Economic Development and Planning Division of the Municipality of Aljezur, presented his reflections, stating that he considered it important to carry out an assessment of the ADERE 2020 strategy, namely on what went better and worse in terms of development of the territory.

In this sequence, Carlos Albano, member of Vicentina, explained that, with the implementation of the ADERE 2020 strategy, territories with less population and with a smaller farm, presented better results in relation to moments in which the GAL did not exist.

Helga Francisco, Lagos City Council technician, also addressed the ADERE 2020 strategy, noting that, in the meetings of the project management body, its results have been exposed, highlighting that they are positive in relation to the foreseen objectives.

The ADERE 2020 partners and associates were present at the meeting, including members of the Local and Regional Administration, as well as public and private entities, associations and foundations.

Community-Based Local Development (DLBC) is a form of integrated approach to territorial development which, in its rural aspect, is supported by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), through the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy (PEPAC) .

ADERE 2020 is a Local Action Group (GAL) whose objective is to promote in specific territories the strategic and operational concertation of a network of partners focused on entrepreneurship and job creation.
