The Câmara de Silves signed 90 program-contracts with 72 institutions, including associations, collectivities and clubs, which, as a whole, represent support of more than 473 thousand euros to the associative fabric of the municipality, on the 6th of June.
The entities that will be supported are headquartered in the municipality and «develop work close to the community in the areas of sport, culture, social intervention and youth», according to the Câmara de Silves.
In addition to monetary support, program contracts provide for logistical support for institutions.
«Financial support for local associations constitutes an important lever for the functioning of the municipality's institutions, with the main objective of allowing them to continue to develop their actions in favor of society», according to the municipality.
The Chamber emphasizes that, «compared to previous years, there is a considerable increase in the amounts of support contemplated by the municipality to the institutions of the municipality that reflects the good functioning of the associative movement and that represents the bet and the recognition of the Municipality, for the work of the local institutions ».
Rosa Palma, Mayor of Silves, took advantage of the contract signing ceremony to congratulate the institutions "for the effort and work they have been developing together with the Municipality".
