Rui Vicente and José Paulo Dias elected vice-presidents of UGT-Algarve

On the 15th of June

Rui Vicente, representing MAIS Sindicato, and José Paulo Dias, from FNE – National Education Federation, were elected vice-presidents of the UGT-Algarve Secretariat, at the first meeting of this body, which took place on the 15th of June.

The election took place following the IV Congress of UGT-Algarve, which took place in May and during which Daniel Santana had already been re-elected president of the Algarve delegation of this trade union central.

Rui Vicente, is the current coordinator of the Portimão section of MAIS Union and José Paulo Dias is the district coordinator of the SDP Sul Teachers Union.

In the same session, João Barnabé, from SINTAP, was elected Treasurer of the Secretariat and Daniel Santana was appointed Executive Secretary of the Secretariat.

«The executive team that will lead the destinies of UGT-Algarve until the year 2027 was constituted, with the mission: to implement the Action program approved at the IV Congress, which aims to operationalize the priorities defended by the General Union of Workers, either by reinforcing the union activity in the region, always in cooperation with the affiliated Unions, in an ever-increasing proximity to workers and the population in general, either by maintaining a proposing position in the discussion of regional policies and/or claiming before the Business Associations and/or the District Public Entities», according to UGT Algarve.
