The Petis company donated around 300 kilos of animal feed to Animal Rescue Algarve (ARA), a non-profit association whose work goes well beyond its shelter in Cabanita, Loulé.
«The significant help follows a request for help» made by ARA, stresses the association.
Petis is a 100% Portuguese company, whose motto “Don't leave for tomorrow the help you can give today”.
Since 2018, ARA has rescued and rehomed over 1200 animals, which have found new families across the country and beyond.
Petis' donation included high-quality food for dogs and cats, «making a significant contribution to the well-being of the animals residing at the shelter, many of which have tragic stories but are on their way to a happy ending».
Cat food will also support the “Vila dos Gatos” project, developed by ARA, which, in partnership with the Municipality of Loulé and most of its parishes, aspires to sterilize up to 1.500 stray cats annually, as well as the management of their colonies, including the installation of shelters and the monitoring, feeding and care of the animals.
