Lagos Museum Dr. José Formosinho distinguished at the EXPONE awards

EXPONE awards are «merely honorary and in recognition of professional work»

The Lagos Museum Accessibility Project Dr. José Formosinho was a finalist in the EXPONE Awards of Andalusia, awarded by AMMA – Association of Museologists and Museographers of Andalusia, which this year invited the Ibero-American countries for the category of Best International Exhibition Project.

The Câmara de Lagos explains that «the EXPONE awards are purely honorary and recognize professional work, distinguishing good practices and innovation in museums and exhibitions, rewarding inclusive, accessible and sustainable projects».

The Lagos Museum Accessibility Project Dr. José Formosinho was a finalist, together with the exhibition “Giroográfica. Como en el morte la hiedra” by the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia (Madrid), in cooperation with the University Museum of Contemporary Art of the UNAM (Mexico City).

The prize went to the exhibition “El Dorado. Un territorio” by the Proa Foundation, in Buenos Aires (Argentina), in cooperation with the America Society in New York (United States) and the Amparo Museum, in Puebla (Mexico).

The jury for this event was made up of 16 personalities from culture, museology and museography external to AMMA, the organizing entity, which evaluated more than 50 applications, and for the “Best International Exhibition Project” award, it included participants from more than 10 Ibero-American countries .

The awards and diplomas ceremony took place on the 20th of June, within the scope of the CMMalaga – Culture & Museums International Tech Forum, which brought together in Malaga (Spain) dozens of public, private and business entities from the world of culture and museums.
