JAT makes a «very positive» assessment of MOMI and announces awardees

According to the JAT, «the expectations and objectives set were achieved»

«The 2nd edition of MOMI – Festival Internacional de Teatro Físico do Algarve ended and the balance could not be more positive», reveals JAT – Janela Aberta Teatro, which announced this Monday, June 19th, the winners (a novelty of this edition). 

The “Best Show” award was given to the Argentine company Unpoyo Rojo, with the show of the same name. The Audience Award went to the Chilean Mimo Tuga, with the show Con Su Permiso, which collected the maximum scores.

According to JAT, «the expectations and objectives set were achieved, proving once again the potential of the city of Faro and the region in being the stage of an international cultural Festival, managing to be already a reference in the panorama of festivals linked to physical theater».

This edition had almost 100 artists and technicians, from different corners of the world, from Chile, Argentina, Spain, Slovakia, United Kingdom, Indonesia, Italy, Switzerland and Portugal.

In a note, the organizing company also highlights that in this 2nd edition of MOMI the presence of the artistic directors of the International Exhibition of MIM a Sueca, Spain, which has 32 editions, and of the Physical Fest of Liverpool, which presents its 18th edition this year .

The MOMI program took place at the Doca de Faro, in Jardim da Alameda and in the main meeting rooms Faro, Theater of Figures, Theater
Lethes, Auditorium Pedro Ruivo (Conservatório Regional do Algarve Maria Campina) and the Auditorium of the IPDJ, spaces that, in total, received more than 2000 spectators, of all ages and social backgrounds.

With regard to the institutional relationship and receptivity of the business community, this 2nd edition counted 44 institutional, regional, national and international partnerships, a number that doubles those of the 1st edition and which were essential to guarantee the quality of the event.
