A 71-year-old man was detained by the Judiciary Police for committing crimes of robbery with a firearm in the municipalities of Albufeira and Silves.
According to the Judiciary Police, the robberies took place on the 19th and 26th of May of this year, inside a residence and next to a restaurant, where the defendant, threatening him with a firearm, «tried to steal money, bank cards and a high-capacity vehicle, valued at tens of thousands of euros».
With the arrest, the firearm used was recovered, «identical to those used by the police forces».
The detainee has, according to the PJ, "various criminal records for committing violent crimes" and will be presented to the judicial authority for interrogation and application of coercive measures.
