Geopalcos receives “aenigmático” accordion and Algarve Jazz Orchestra

Geopalcos started on the 20th of May and passes through the municipalities of Loulé, Silves and Albufeira

The animation of the GeoPalcos Arte.Ciência.Natureza, event of the aspiring Geoparque Algarvensis Loulé-Silves-Albufeira, will feature an “aenigmático” accordion and the Algarve Jazz Orchestra.

On the 24th of June, the municipality of Silves hosts a concert by João Frade with the Aenigmaticus Orchestra. The accordionist, who has already won several awards and who has played with great contemporary musicians – he is a resident musician for the fado singer Mariza – plays with her band in São Marcos da Serra, in Largo da Igreja, at 21:00.

The concert is repeated the following day, in Alte, in the municipality of Loulé, in Fonte Grande, at 21:00.

The following weekend, Geopalcos returns to Silves, in the former Muslim capital of the Algarve, with the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve. It is an event that resumes Sunset Secrets, in which saxophonist Luís Miguel will present “Time Wheel Trio”, a concert that presents a unique fusion of main stream and contemporary jazz.

Starting on the 20th of May, GeoPalcos Arte.Ciência.Natureza – a program of cultural intervention in the aspiring Geopark Algarvensis Loulé-Silves- Albufeira – has been creating innovative events in the territory aspiring to UNESCO World Geopark, marking the crossing of various artistic disciplines, but also the communication between cultural agents, local people and the population that usually visits the Algarve during the summer.

GeoPalcos is a biennial initiative, which involves the three municipalities promoting the candidacy of the aspiring Geopark Algarvensis to be a UNESCO World Geopark and which takes multiple cultural activities to the interior of the Algarve, including visual arts and performing arts.
