The mouth of the Aljezur stream, on Amoreira beach, has been cleared again, after «an intense intervention», announced this Monday, June 12, the Municipal Council of that Algarve municipality.
According to the Aljezur municipality, this was the second time this year that such an intervention took place.
«The first was carried out in February, but ended up not having the desired effect, so it was now necessary to intervene in that place again», clarifies the Municipality in a note.
«After several meetings with the entity responsible for this domain, the Portuguese Environment Agency and the respective Hydrographic Region Administration, it was concluded that it would be urgent to move forward with a new initiative to clear the obstruction, which ended up happening, involving various human and technical resources, like swivels and dumpers», says the municipality.
