Photography, ceramics and painting featured in Albufeira galleries

From the 14th of July

The month of July in Albufeira will have artistic exhibitions for all tastes, ranging from photography to ceramics, including painting.

From the 14th of July, the João Bailote Municipal Gallery will host the ceramic exhibition by Nelson Martins, “Variações sobre um Sonho”, on display until the 5th of August. The artist's first contact with ceramics was in 1997, at Cerâmica d'Alte, where he began working as an apprentice tile painter with Vitor Cassanheira. He has lived in England and Switzerland, expanding his artistic and personal horizons. In 2018, he returned to the Algarve and reopened Cerâmica d`Alte, where he currently works.

The exhibition is open to the public from Monday to Saturday, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 13:30 pm to 17:30 pm.

At the same time, at the Pintor Samora Barros Art Gallery, Júlio Antão and Maria Trindade present the photography exhibition “Do Outro Lado”, open to the public from the 1st to the 31st of July. The exhibition reflects on what it is to look differently, what the other is and on the mysteries of what we cannot see. “Do Outro Lado” presents a set of photographs by both authors, mediated by curator José Jesus, who dialogue in the gallery space, without restrictions. Galeria Samora Barros is open from Monday to Saturday, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 13:30 pm to 17:30 pm.

In the Cultural Extension Room of the Historical Archive of Albufeira, a new photographic exhibition is on display, entitled “Albufeira, a journey to the past”. The exhibition can be visited until the 22nd of September and requires prior registration, so those interested should contact us via email [email protected] or telephone 289 599 819.

The exhibition intends to create a relevant narrative of the local history, documenting the daily life of the village, the streets, the buildings, the people and the experiences of the village of Albufeira in the XNUMXth century. XX.

Until the 8th of July, the exhibition “No Limite”, by Bárbara Reis, will take place at the João Bailote Municipal Gallery and until the 30th, the photographic exhibition by João Fazenda, “Time Lapses – The Algarve Parar o Tempo”, at the Municipal Museum of Archeology.
