Concerts by José Malhoa and a tribute to António Variações, carousels, food and many exhibitors. The May Fair starts this Friday, the 5th, in Quelfes, and will last until Sunday.

The event, which is taking place for the first time and has the support of the Municipality of Olhão, will be broadcast on Sunday afternoon by TVI, which will be live from Olhão through the program Somos Portugal.

This initiative, by the Parish Council of Quelfes, «appears with the aim of reactivating the popular fair that used to take place in the past, in a clear commitment to promoting the municipality’s reference companies in the areas of the cluster of the sea, olive growing and floriculture», says the Chamber from Olhão.

«A wide variety of local and regional exhibitors will be available, where visitors will be able to discover the handicrafts and typical products of the region, as well as the uses and customs of the municipality and, above all, of the parish of Quelfes», he adds.

The event, focused on the culture, intangible heritage and gastronomy of Olhão, is the perfect occasion for visitors, on Sunday, to watch the important tradition that is the snoring of tuna, which will then be cooked for all those present to taste.
