“Sea Fest” took thousands of people to Albufeira

There was a concert by Carlão

The Albufeira “Sea Fest”, which took place on the 7th and 8th of April and had skateboarding and BMX demonstrations and a concert by Carlão, brought «thousands of people» to this Algarve city.

These were «two days entirely dedicated to sport and youth, in which conviviality and fun were guaranteed through the participation of fifty skateboarders and the performances of the best artists from Albufeira», says the City Council.

Sport was in the spotlight with demonstrations by the best skaters, BMX and inline skaters. The big news this year was the street circuit, with an extension of 30 meters.

The program included several activities, such as traditional games, inflatables, environmental education activities, juggling demonstrations, a fire show and also lots of music.

On the 7th, Friday, Daniel Vargas (The Voice), Quiassaca & Wavy, Associação LUEL, Ben & The Pirates, Ehliu, Subtil and Dj Henrique Pontes performed.

On the 8th, Saturday, the animation began with the dance show by the “SOUL” association and the musical moments were in charge of Britexx, Páchá, Hinge, No Time To Waste, Back 2 Back with Dj Zé Black and China.

The night was also marked by Carlão's performance.

«This is an event that proves what has been our effort to promote the city of Albufeira not only nationally, but internationally», says José Carlos Rolo, mayor.

The mayor also stressed that «it is important that our residents and visitors see Albufeira as a tourist destination that bets on reference cultural events».

«Albufeira is a city that, in addition to a good climate, has good cuisine, excellent hospitality and great artists and athletes», he underlined.

Cristiano Cabrita, deputy mayor of Albufeira and responsible for sports and youth, revealed that «the “Albufeira Sea Fest” is an investment in the sporting, musical and artistic talent of young people from Albufeira».

This year, the “Albufeira Sea Fest” honored Pedro Martins Lima, the father of surfing in Portugal, who recently passed away at the age of 92.

At the end of the event, a Solidarity Skateboard from “Surf the Wave” was raffled off, a brand created by two young entrepreneurs from Albufeira.
