Algarve athlete Joana Schenker finished the 1st stage of the Professional Bodyboard World Tour in 3rd place.
The Arcelormittal WAHINE Bodyboarding Pro, which took place on Solemar beach, in Jacaraipe, Brazil, ended this Thursday, April 27th.
Joana Schenker was in third position, losing in the semifinals to the Japanese Namika Yamashita, «in a very disputed heat», where Joana kept the lead until a few minutes from the end, when the Japanese managed two waves that gave her the victory and the passage to in the end.
The final featured two Japanese athletes, with the winner of the test being Sari Ohhara.
With this result, Joana moves up to TOP 3 Worldwide.
The world circuit goes to Chile, for the Antofagasta Bodyboarding Festival, 2nd stage of the professional world circuit IBC Bodyboarding Tour, between the 18th and 28th of May.
