The closing session of the project “Revitalize Monchique – Tourism as a Catalyst” will take place this Thursday, March 16, from 10 am, at Espaço Jovem de Monchique.
The initiative comes to an end after four years on the ground to breathe new life into tourism and the economy of Monchique after the great fire of 2018, which consumed more than 27 hectares of forest and agricultural land.
The balance of this project financed by almost 480 thousand euros by Turismo de Portugal will be made in this session.
A hiking festival with two editions, five walking trails, a new promotional website and an international campaign are some of the actions developed since 2019, the start year of this project led by the Algarve Tourism Board, in partnership with the Algarve Tourism Association, Almargem and Monchique Town Hall.
