Exhibition “Fernando Pessoa, from Pessoa to People” opened in Lagoa

The exhibition will be open in this room until the 29th of April

The exhibition of mixed techniques “Fernando Pessoa, from Pessoa to People”, by the artist Patico, was inaugurated last Wednesday, March 8, at the Manuel Gamboa Temporary Exhibition Room, at the Centro Cultural Convento de S. José, in Lagoa .

Works of art ranging from painting, writing and sculpture, spread over three interconnected 'scripts', will be on display in this Room until the 29th of April.

The first script is the pretending poet with “I feel multiple”, the second is the maritime ode, to which the artist adds the ode to earth and sky, and the third is the awareness of the root, to which the artist adds other topics such as women, society and current affairs.

Most of these works were created with recycled materials, which the artist uses and transforms, giving them multiple dimensions.

According to the artist, this exhibition arises because he had a huge desire to exhibit in Lagoa, the city that welcomed him several years ago, and because during the pandemic he had time to dedicate himself to his passion, «to close himself off a little and, at times , thinking about restlessness», as he himself refers.

«I know that exhibiting in Lagoa, in the Manuel Gamboa Temporary Exhibition room, was a dream for Patico and I am very happy for him. I had the privilege of being present at the inauguration and I invite everyone to visit this exhibition of enormous quality, by an artist who chose Lagoa to live», said Luís Encarnação, mayor of Lagoa.

The exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm or from 14:00 pm to 17:30 pm and admission is free. Those who wish can also book a guided tour for groups through contact 282 380 400 or at the reception of Convento de S. José.
