Citizens of Quarteira can now apply for an old-age pension at the Parish Council.
«From now on, citizens can count on specialized support in completing and submitting the application for an old-age pension, available through the Direct Social Security program 'Pensão na Hora'», explains the Parish Council of Quarteira.
«This proximity service and personalized follow-up will avoid trips to central Social Security services and reduce waiting times, since 90% of online requests are answered by the following month», he adds.
In the online application, citizens can also check their contributory career and find out the estimated amount of their pension.
For Telmo Pinto, president of the Parish Council of Quarteira, the new service reinforces the objectives of the municipality with regard to the close relationship with the citizens.
«Simplifying, bringing together and supporting people is one of our main objectives. That's why we've managed to ensure that the Board is always present in all the essential aspects of their lives", he says.
This new service is the result of a protocol signed between the Social Security Institute and the National Association of Parishes.
