“Rescue Memories, Inscribe Memories” is the name of the formation promoted by Teatro do Vestido in Castro Marim, from the 13th to the 17th of February. in a project that intends to be a «contribution to artistic self-reflection on the territory».
The Teatro do Vestido team – Joana Craveiro, Estêvão Antunes and Tânia Guerreiro – accompanied by historian Alice Samara, will work with artists, researchers, teachers, art students and people in general interested in documentary research, to create artistic objects from observation ethnography, the collection of life stories, objects, documents and the observation of the landscape and the memories that reside there.
In after-hours hours, from 19 pm to 23 pm, the training will be accompanied by the sharing with participants of various methodologies and tools used by Teatro do Vestido in its practice of artistic creation over the last 00 years, namely in the field of documentary theatre, accompanied by a theoretical and practical foray into the methodologies of oral history.
Since March 2022, Teatro do Vestido has been spending time in the municipality of Castro Marim, observing, listening and studying. Seeking to map the territory, the people and their stories, the company wants to contribute to a community archive of “small and forgotten” memories, accompanying the efforts of local associations in this regard.
