RIAS launches intensive course on wild fauna recovery

The course will take place at the RIAS which is located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, in Olhão

The RIAS – Center for the Recovery and Research of Wild Animals will launch, for the first time, an intensive course on the recovery of wild fauna, which will take place from the 11th to the 16th of March. 

The course will take place at the RIAS which is located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, in Olhão.

During the initiative, it will be possible to “get to know the departments necessary for the proper functioning of a wild fauna recovery center and receive training on species identification, essential for effective and adequate treatment”.

«In addition, there will be theoretical training on the reception and diagnosis of animals, as well as the correct way to capture and handle the different species. Learning about the environmental enrichment, behavior and diet of each species is essential for a successful rehabilitation», adds the RIAS.

All this will be complemented with a practical component.

Registration for the course costs 280 euros until February 24 and 320 euros after that date.
