CHUA Palliative Care Professionals talk about “Myths and Fears at the end of life”

Event takes place this afternoon and is open to the general public, health professionals and students

The Palliative Care Team of the Hospital Unit of Faro and CHUA's Psychosocial Support Team (EAPS) will be hosting this Thursday, February 23, between 18:30 pm and 20:00 pm, the initiative “Myths and Fears at the end of life – Knowing them to live better”, at the Municipal Library in Faro.

The event aims to reflect on the fears and myths in Palliative Care and the end of life, as well as to present the content of the book “On Science, Love and the Value of Life – Reports and Patterns of the Identity of Palliative Care”, written by Isabel Galriça Neto.

«We want this event to be an immersion in the universe of Palliative Care, inevitably marked by illness, but where comfort and empathy also fit. We intend, at the same time, to contribute to health literacy, providing reflection on topics related to health and beyond, as well as encouraging moments of sharing between all stakeholders», explains the organization.

The event will be attended by representatives of the board of directors of CHUA, the City Council of Faro, by professionals from the Palliative Care Team of the Hospital Unit of Faro do CHUA and Isabel Galriça Neto, author of the aforementioned book.

The event is open to the general public, health professionals and students.
