Monchique will promote its first Employment, Training and Entrepreneurship Fair between the 22nd and 24th of February, at the Espaço Jovem do Município, an event that results from the work of the Vicentina association in partnership with the City Council.
The event «includes an exhibition space and spaces for promoting workshops and debates, aimed at the community, unemployed people and the local institutional and business fabric», according to Vicentina.
The objective of the event is «to contribute to boosting the approximation between the institutional and business network and the unemployed population, as well as to encourage spaces for the creation of new business ideas and development of skills to boost the labor market».
Each day of the event will have its own specific theme.
On the 22nd, the theme is “Employment and Lifelong Learning”. Throughout this day, efforts will be made to «contribute to raising awareness and encouraging an active attitude and seeking continuous training, but also the need to adapt and increase the training offer». Workshops on the subject will also be promoted.
On the 23rd, the theme is “Entrepreneurship and Employment” and the focus “will be areas of activity closely related to the territory, emerging areas and “professions of the future”, with the presence of companies established in Monchique”.
On this day, entrepreneurs from Monchique will be invited to share their experience, to tell «how they structured themselves, how they develop their projects in the local context and how they see their future in the local and global economy and the challenges of “being an entrepreneur” in areas development key in the territory".
The “Monchique Entrepreneurs Meeting: Opportunities, Challenges and Investment Areas” also takes place on the 23rd, “with the central objective of collectively thinking about the challenges ahead and how Monchique can position itself as an ecosystem for entrepreneurs , namely in key sectors for its development in terms of its potential and resources».
The idea is for this to be an «occasion for reflection, sharing and exploration of opportunities for economic and social development», which opens up space for the creation of new business ideas and skills development.
On the last day, February 24th, the focus will be on “Good practices and (always) active communities”.
