Kristoff wins the opening stage and is the first leader of the Volta ao Algarve

The Norwegian Alexander Kristoff (Uno-X) became today, February 15th, the first leader of the 49th edition of the Volta ao Algarve by bicycle, winning the first stage, which connected Portimão to Lagos, in the sprint.

At the end of the 200,2 kilometers of the route, Kristoff won in 4:49.25 hours, the same time as the Belgian Jordi Meeus (Bora-hansgrohe) and the Norwegian Soren Warenskjold (Uno-X), second and third, respectively.

Overall, thanks to bonuses, Kristoff has a four second lead over Meeus and six over Warenskjold.
