All Mozambi – Cultural and Recreational Association of Mozambicans and Friends of Mozambique received the keys to its new headquarters from the Municipality of Portimão, which will be located in Três Bicos, in this municipality in the western Algarve.

The objective is for the new premises of the institution, which will complete 10 years of regular activity in June, to be «a privileged meeting point for Mozambicans, also allowing the detection of any social situations in need of help», according to Isilda Gomes, president of the Portimão Town Hall.

For Sofia Froi, chairman of the board of the association, «this noble gesture represents a historic milestone, because we now have a worthy space to disseminate the rich Mozambican cultural heritage and the interests of our fellow countrymen, mainly in terms of their integration and insertion» .

The official also added that "some doctors with connections to Mozambique have already offered to provide support to the community, at least once a month, and from now on we are in a position to activate this valence".

In the new facilities, located on plot 6 basement of the Urbanização do Pimentão – Três Bicos, initiatives will also be idealized and designed that, starting next June, will mark the first decade of activities of this association and the celebrations of Mozambique’s Independence Day, which is celebrated on the 25th of June.

All Mozambi, whose activity began in 2013, «currently has more than fifty members and has focused its work on supporting the Mozambican community, as a facilitating member in the relationship with various entities, such as the Embassy and the Mozambican consulates in Portugal», according to the Portimão Chamber.

«Participating regularly in the Intercultural Week and other initiatives and events of the Municipality, All Mozambi also carries out clarification actions and provides technical assistance in terms of the legalization process, renewal of documents or legal issues, not forgetting the component of social support, in particular through the financial aid that may be requested from the Portimão City Council», concludes the municipality.
