The exhibition “For an environment of Peace” was inaugurated this Friday, January 6, at the Vicente Campinas Municipal Library, in Vila Real de Santo António.
The initiative is from the Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC) in partnership with the Peace and Art Society (PAS) and the Municipality of Vila Real de Santo António.
This exhibition also includes works by art students from Escola Secundária de VRSA, under the direction of Professor Carla Mourão.
The inauguration was attended by Sofia Costa, from the National Directorate of the CPPC, Saul de Jesus, full professor and member of the presidency of the CPPC, Conceição Constantino, director of the Library, several artists who participated in this exhibition and Maria da Conceição Pires, councilor of the Municipality of Vila Real de Santo António (VRSA).
In the interventions at the inauguration, the participation of all artists was valued and the issue of the need to defend Peace, the end of wars and conflicts, as well as the end of the arms race was highlighted.
